Can a CB Report Be Converted into Certificates for Other Countries?
Short answer: yes. Under the IECEE CB Scheme, a CB test report and certificate issued by an NCB-accredited laboratory can be transferred into national certifications in member countries — typically without repeating the full test suite.
How CB Transfer Works
- Your product is tested once against IEC standards in a CBTL (CB Testing Laboratory) such as ours.
- A CB test report and CB certificate are issued by the national certification body.
- For each target country, the report is submitted to the national body, which may apply national differences.
- National marks (e.g. GCC, and routes accepted by SASO and others) are issued based on the CB report.
What to Check Before Reusing a Report
- Scope match — the report's standards and ratings must cover your product and target market
- National differences — some countries require additional country-specific tests (a delta, not a full re-test)
- Product identity — model, hardware revision and critical components must match the tested configuration
- Validity — reports lose relevance when the standard edition they reference is withdrawn
Existing Report From Another Lab?
We can review third-party CB reports for transferability and issue the delta tests where national differences apply. Send the report for a transferability review.
Transfer acceptance is decided by each national certification body; outcomes are confirmed during project scoping.
